Ahhhhh....peace. Tranquility. A good night's sleep at the end of an energetic day. Remember those days? I do. The word to focus on here is "remember". Because for many of us women "of a certain age", those days are in the past. How many of you have found yourself at 3am staring at the clock and wondering if you'll ever get a decent night's sleep again? Well, I can start harboring resentment of that stupid clock at 3am, believe me!
I don't know what kinds of things you've tried to remedy this, but here's a short list for me: I've tried melatonin (nothing), valarian (nothing), wine (something - but only works for 3 hours), Chinese herbal remedies (they work when I'm consistent with them, but consistency isn't really my strong suit), Tylenol PM (works, but doesn't stop working for hours after I'm supposed to get up - can't deal with the brain fog!), Tramadol - same results as Tylenol PM. I need something that will help me to fall asleep, stay asleep and wake up feeling refreshed in the morning. I'm working on two approaches now that seem to have some promise....stay tuned.
My latest supplement is 5HTP. Have any of you tried it? What have your results been? I'd love to know! I'd really appreciate it if you'd fill out this very short survey. I'm putting together some cool content on this subject, and your answers would help me a lot. Thanks!
