Many people have experienced the deep relaxation that comes with listening to crystal bowls. Many sound healers use the bowls and they are beautiful. Each bowl is tuned to a particular note, and that note corresponds to a particular chakra or energy center in the body. So many sound healers have a set of 7 bowls, each corresponding to one of the 7 chakras.
The symphonic gong is like having a thousand crystal bowls. The overall effect is having not only the 7 chakras vibrating in sync with the sound, but more like having every cell of your body vibrating. The feeling is one of intense awareness of life coursing through you, while at the same time having a sense of peace.
Gongs come in a variety of sizes. The symphonic gong that we use is 30" - big enough to fill a large hall when necessary, but small enough for me to fit into the trunk of my car -- a necessary limitation! I've had people tell me that they've felt energy like liquid pouring through their head, some have reported seeing bright colors, one woman told me that her father came and held her hand. Many people have mentioned that they had the best sleep they've ever experienced after a sound healing session.
If you've never experience a "gong wash", as it's often called, check out our "coming events" page. We regularly hold events around San Diego County, and soon will be offering distance sound healing as well.
