How many nights have you spent tossing around from this side to that, then poking at your pillow to make sure it's just right, then looking at the clock, then maybe turning on the light (or wishing you could, but not wanting to wake anyone), thinking reading a little might make you sleepy. And then you look at the clock again and wonder if it's broken, because it's only been 15 minutes since the last time you checked, and why aren't you sleeping by now? If you're a woman who is close to menopause, or in the "heat" of it (sorry - couldn't help myself!), then you know exactly what I'm talking about.
When we were teenagers, we could sleep probably around 12 hours - easily! And now? It's like..."Oh, if I could only get that first hour in, I'm sure I'd be able to turn it into at least 4 hours!! Yeah... four hours is sounding pretty good around now, isn't it? Every day, you're seeing those dark circles grow under your eyes. Every day you're wondering if this forgetfulness/ brain fog is the start of losing your mind, or is it just because you haven't had a decent night's sleep in forever!
What if I told you that there are natural ways to deal with this insomnia that don't involve taking anything -- not even over-the-counter style medications (they make you useless the next morning). I'd love to share what I've learned with you, but I have a favor to ask first. Will you share with me what kinds of things you've tried? I want to know what your path has been - have you found something that works for you? Are you still searching, having tried everything under the sun? Please leave a comment down below and let us all know if you've found some "secret formula" for getting a good night's sleep. I'll respond to all comments. Thanks!!
Oh - and my secret sauce? That'll be in my next blog post. Promise!! (REALLY!)
